Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS): Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment Options

What is Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS)?

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS), often referred to as "runner's knee," is a condition characterized by pain around the front of the knee and the patella (kneecap). PFPS is common in athletes and individuals who participate in activities that put stress on the knee joint.
